Update for the Salmon River in Stanley, Idaho:
The past few weeks have been unseasonably cold in Stanley. It is June 9th and there is snow in the forecast. Its hard to want to float the river when it is 40 degrees and raining. The weather finds the guides grumpy, thank goodness for hot springs or they might all go mad.
The guides are anxiously waiting for the switch from Spring too Summer and it looks to be on the doorstep. The abnormally cold spring has kept the snow in the mountains, which is great news for the 2008 rafting season! With ample snow in the mountains and a slow run-off I predict we will see the best summer rafting conditions the Salmon river has seen in over a decade.
Head up to Stanley this summer and join us for a day of Idaho rafting at its best. Hope to see you soon.
