Each Spring Sawtooth Adventure Company hosts an employee training trip to prepare for the upcoming season. This year SAC explored the Bruneau River, an oasis in the enormous desert of SE Idaho. The Bruneau was full of surprising discoveries, from the huge whitewater to the picture-prefect campsites to the four-foot high poison ivy forests. The Bruneau River canyon shocked us all with its stark contrast from the surrounding sage-filled plains. The river wound its way through tight canyon walls, which meant very little visibility ahead and, in turn, lots of quick decisions. It was especially exciting because none of us had been on the Bruneau before. There were plenty of Class IV rapids to keep us on our toes. Everything went perfectly though, which bodes well for our upcoming season. We can't wait to see you here in Stanley!
Its Simple......... Stanley Idaho and the Sawtooth Mountains are an outdoor recreation mecca. An off the beaten path destination with world class recreation opportunities. Stanley Idaho is surrounded by more federally protected wild lands than anywhere in the US. Stanley Idaho is the gateway to Sawtooth Mountain, Salmon River of No Return, The Middle Fork of the Salmon and Frank Church Wilderness.
